what is the value of the garnet gemstone in relation to the other gemstones?

i need some idea of how much garnet is worth. is it precious?

1. A garnet is a gemstone, not a precious stone. It's value depends on the area/region (US, Check Republic, etc) it is from, the clarity and the size of the stone. You can get good advice at a gem show and the internet is full of informative sites. Below are just two sites of hundreds.
2. It's usually a pretty cheap gem, but it depends on the type, size, cut, colour, clarity, etc, if you want to figure out what a particular gem is worth. There are lots of different varieties of garnet too. Tsavorite is the most expensive one.
