How can you reproduce a Garnet Japanese Maple tree from the trimmings or seeds of one?
I would really like a Garnet Japanese Maple tree, but they are very expensive to purchase. Is there any way to use the trimmings of one already grown to re-grow another? And where on the tree itself can you find the seeds to plant more? How would you grow these seeds? Thanks!

- softwood cuttings taken in july 6 to 8" , wounded, rooting hormone, peat-perlite, mist, 2 months....seed is double-winged, from mid-branch to tip. seed should be collected in the fall before it dries on the tree and planted directly. since 'Garnet' is a cultivar, only cuttings will reproduce another. seed will produce jap. maple
